The TtMadrid one year student visa programme in Spain
The Spanish, Teaching and Cultural Immersion Programme (1 year student visa)
This programme has been specifically designed for those who want to learn/improve their Spanish, learn to teach and get to know the culture of Spain and don't hold an EU passport and therefore need a visa.
The programme is includes the following
- 4 week intensive TEFL course in Madrid (which is the recognised qualification for Teaching English as a Second Language and meets the standards set out by the British Council. It is also accredited by IATQuO)
- 12 months of Spanish classes at AIL (Option of either Evening, Friday afternoon, or Saturday morning - 3 hours per week)
- Spanish culture programme (intercambio evenings, cinema, dance classes, museum visits etc) (4 hours per week)
- Lesson planning and mentoring. This is available at TtMadrid for 9 hours per week and the trainers will help you organize your lessons, come up with creative classes and deal with any difficult students.
- Teaching practice - this will take place in academies, schools or in-companies around Madrid and is paid at market rates.
- The one year programe also includes Ongoing Professional Development Training at TtMadrid which includes courses in NLP, Coaching, Accelerated Learning, marketin yourself, technology in the classroom. Whilst these are excellent courses for teachers, they are also very applicable to the corporate environment.
The visa process
At times this can seem a little complicated but we have helped hundreds of graduates go through this before and we will support you every step of the way. We also match you with a graduate who has been through the same consulate as you so they can give you advice and tips.
You will often hear that you don't need to get a visa and you can work here without papers - and this is true. The work is not the best paid, or the best quality but it is possible. However, for many people, one of the main reasons you want to travel to Spain is to experience this beautiful country and the rest of Europe. Once your 3 month tourist visa has expired you will find it more stressful travelling without a visa as you are more likely to get caught. One of the biggest false rumours is that if you leave the country after 3 months, your tourist visa resets itself. The law says that you are allowed to visit Spain as a tourist for 6 months but not 6 months consecutively (you must have a 3 month break inbetween visits), therefore the tourist visa does not reset itself if you leave and come back in. The more information you have, the more informed you are when making the decision that is right for you.
Price:
1 year visa course: 2750 euros with a 1 year renewal option at 2000 euros with payment plan.
We have prepared a large information pack on every aspect of the programme and the process so please email Heather at info@ttmadrid.com and she will email it straight through to you.
Want to talk to a graduate who has done our programme, no problem , just tell us a bit about yourself and we will find someone similar to talk to.

Just a few years out of college, my wife and I had been working in the Washington, DC area for the past several years in a corporate environment, when we started looking for an opportunity to live abroad, travel, and perfect our Spanish.
We heard about TT Madrid through a few friends that gave us glowing endorsements, and from the start we could understand why. Natasha and her team not only helped answer all of our questions and address all of our concerns, but they also gave all kinds of advice on how to obtain our visas, housing, travel, and even bank accounts and setting up our phones.
The course itself was a blast, but was just as thorough as it was fun. It was well paced, with a great mix of theory, grammar, phonetics, and practice-teaching to make sure we all felt confident and prepared to teach professionally at the end of four weeks. And we made a lot of great friends in the group, as well.
Best of all, after the class is over, we have a great network for jobs right off the bat. The TT Madrid team helps set-up job interviews, create CVs, and even shows you how to maintain a balanced schedule (so you have enough time to travel on the weekends!).
Overall, we’re more than thrilled with our decision and are quite grateful to the team at TT Madrid.
