During the course you will receive the relevant information you need to sign up for the national health service. If you are a non-European citizen you should carefully consider getting private medical insurance during your stay in Madrid. Many people opt for Sanitas as it is the Spanish arm of BUPA. They offer English speaking doctors etc. However, they can often be a little more expensive than the other alternatives and feedback from past trainees has been that the actual set up of the insurance is time consuming and bureaucratic. The most famous insurers in Spain are MAPFRE. They do all types of insurance from travel to car to medical insurance and everything in between. They also have many offices around Madrid so you can talk to them directly. |
