Moving to a foreign country is an exciting adventure, until you need somewhere to live and find yourself on the phone with a Spanish real estate agent who speaks 100 miles per hour. And the weekend after your TEFL isn’t always the ideal time to roam the streets, homeless and practicing your Spanish in an attempt to find shelter. So in order to minimise these problems as much as possible, we have found an agency who works with us to make your transition as smooth as possible. To provide you with the option of permanent accommodation before you arrive, we have negotiated a deal with Accommadrid. For 60 euros, our agent will send you photos of rooms available for your arrival date. You can choose the place you prefer and they will arrange for someone to be at the flat with keys when you arrive. The advantages of using this agent are that you don’t have to pay anything prior to arriving, the deposit is only 180 euros (others can ask for up to 1000 euros), it doesn't require any bank guarantees, and you can stay as long as you like. Rooms cost 450 euros per month. On arrival you will need to pay the agent the first month’s rent, the deposit, and their 60 euro commission. From our experience this is the most hassle free option available – and we're there to help you every step of the way. If you love the flat and your flatmates, you can stay there for the duration of your time in Spain. You can’t lose. |
